H.E.T.O.E.- Humans for the Ethical Treatment Of Earthlings.

Interesting concept, no? People are concerned about the environment, animal cruelty, global warming, depletion of fossil fuels, and the destruction of rain forests. As a result, each one of these Causes has it's very own special interest group dedicated to fixing these problems. Why isn't there a special interest group that is dedicated to humans?Homelessness, health care, and genocide are just a few of the issues that could use their own groups. But, what about this? Instead of have 9 billion different little groups vying for attention how about a single, multi-faceted entity that is comprised of the people it is trying to make life better for.

What if 60% of the population actively took part in this group? Participation can take many forms, most would probably just let their opinions be known. Statistically speaking, others would be compelled to take more active roles like representing their local communities. I don't mean one or two people that are voted as representatives, I'm talking a percentage of the population of an area harassing politicians into doing the jobs we gave them. Think about it. Currently, only about 10% of the population of this country own all of the corporations, industries, natural resources, media, banks, land and technologies. This tiny 10% wants to maintain the status-quo, "Less for you, all for me".  The very least one can consider this mindset to be is unethical. Aside from the greed that rules this 10%, there is no reason for people to lose their homes. There is no reason to fight over dwindling fossil fuels that pollute our environment. There is no reason to inject our food supply with hormones and steroids. This list can go on and on, so I'll stop myself here. My point is, if YOU don't get involved the status-quo will be maintained and all of us will be left with nothing. This little 10% of the population will have it all.

I understand, you work (possibly multiple jobs), you have kids, you go to school and if you're REALLY luck you get to do it all. But no time at all, really? The past year, '09 for those keeping track, we have seen more political activism than we have in the past 40 years. Yay technology! A butt-load of emails to public officials did not go unnoticed. Voting  in online polls doesn't take a lot of time, neither does sending snail-mail for those that are not as computer savvy. Regardless of the form it takes, when even just 40% of the population says "Do what I tell you to do, or you're FIRED" politicians will attempt to protect their position. Unfortunately, the politicians are just puppets. If they're not being paid off outright, they're being cock-blocked by their opponents. The ones doing the bribing and blocking are the Corporations and  Banks. I'm not saying this in the weirdo, conspiracy theory kind of way. I mean that literally. Our government borrows the currency we use and has to pay it back with interest. We, regular people, borrow our money from the banks and return it with interest directly. Indirectly, our money goes back to the bank through corporations, purchases from which we get taxed for. You know, things like the house, the car and your education. isn't it just great that you have to pay interest or taxes on things you don't technically own?! The bank can legally take the car and house if you don't make your payments. The logic being, of course, that  "You don't own it anyway, we do". The education is yours, but with the interest and just general life happening it takes an average of something like 20 years to pay it off. 20 years....you'd be like 45 before you paid off your student loans.

Am I the only one who thinks that's just plain wrong? No, I know that's not it. I hear people talking about it all the time. I think the problem is that we've been trained so well to work within a structure. An archetypal hierarchy formed by some imagined Great Leader is missing from the picture. I think that's a good thing. In my opinion, it seems like the People want to find a "Good Dictator". Someone who will take over everything, solving all the world's problems along the way and still make sure everything stays fair and just. I'm sorry, no. NO, no, no. Once more, NO! That is never going to happen. Before all the optimists chime in...consider Human Nature for just 30 seconds. 1 individual, total power, fair and just. No. I know this. You know this. Let's move on. Some Leader is not just going to pop out of the woodwork so why not work on a better structure? A structure that is founded on purely on Ethics. Ethics: The principles of right conduct with reference to a specific profession, mode of life, etc. Our current structure is based on Morals with a smattering of Ethics. Morals and Ethics share many of the same qualities but, Morals are based on the Spirituality of a Culture. Ethics is primarily a secular concern, so it's far more universal. We all know that killing another human is wrong. We know that stealing is wrong. However, we lock someone in jail for years for stealing a car while the bank can do the same thing and make a profit off it. Why does the car thief get jail time but not the banker? Here's an even scarier point. The guy that goes to jail gets off cheaper. Sure he looses some time, but he won't be in debt for a large chunk of his life because of it. Another cool point is that he'll get better health care than your average person, doesn't have to provide for food, clothes or shelter. And he can go to school! The poor guy that lost his car to the bank still has to pay the debt and provide for his own food, shelter, medical care and clothing without a car to get to work in. That is unethical.

Really, how hard would lit be to join a web group that "met" online once a week to vote on which Cause to deal with first? How hard would it be to take a 5 minute poll to see what issues in your Cause have to be handled first? Are you without regular internet? Well, why not go to the Town Hall meetings? What about City Council meetings? And for those 40 people who truly live in th middle of nowhere, have the minutes of the meetings nearest to you put in the paper. Unless you like the way things are going, there is no reason NOT to do something. Take back control and run the government as it was meant to be run, like a Government, not a business. Use that power to run health care like Health Care and education like Education. Let Business stay in the private citizen's realm of Capitalism.

Humans for the Ethical Treatment Of Earthlings would be a multi-faceted, national group comprised of, run and funded by the People. Ideally, no less than 50% of the population will take the initiative to restructure our society through H.E.T.O.E. Yes, I used the bad words "funded by". Check this math out. If half of the population, something like 250 million people, each gave $2 to fund/found this group it would start out with $500 million! I think that's a good start towards putting our Constitution back together again. I'm pretty sure that's enough to get some momentum behind getting business people out of politics. Do you really thing there's no Conflict of Interest going on there? Perhaps we could use the funds raised to start our own bank and actually have Ethical business practices. *GASP* Practices like helping communities to thrive but instituting a 10% cap on interest for small business, home, or education loans. What about only lending money it actually has?! Uh Oh! Here comes the crazy talk! We could call it National Bank of the United States of America and the People control the currency, not some international scumbag. Can this really happen? Yes, it can!

When you have to study or get work done, what music (if any) do you put on to help you concentrate?

Study gets J-rock/pop work gets Megadeth, Shoggoth on the Roof, Faith No More, or the Cowboy Bebop soundtracks. At least for the time being  :)

I'm in Despair! Osa..Obamas' anit-smoking law has put me in despair!!

I'm sorry, you can't have a cigarette. Smoking is bad for you and hence it is illegal. What about a drink? Drinking is bad for  you, hence it is illegal. Anything that is bad for you is illegal. Smoking, drinking, loud music, salt, sugar, caffeine, physical contact of ANY kind are all dangerous to our children and have been made illegal.

Think I'm just being facetious? Watch Demolition Man again. Movies aren't just to entertain people, they're to toss out ideas to see what can be gotten away with; or rather what is believe-able.

MAN

Man is in quite an interesting position. His only mode of discerning all of the energies around Him, the brain, is split into two halves. When Man considers His Mind, He is referring to the left half of the brain. When the rare Man considers His Consciousness, He is referring to the right half of the brain. The left is rational, thinking. It's the home of “I” or the Ego. “I” see the world “this” way, and anyone that doesn't see it “My” way is occasionally fascinating, usually weird, generally stupid, or just plain wrong. The right is abstract, “Knowing”. This is the half of the brain that typically gets ignored. There is no ego because this side knows that Everything is One. The twist is that these two halves talk to each other. We call these conversations our sub-conscious.

This is pretty funny, check this out. Man listens to one end of a conversation that's taking place in his head, while ignoring the end that has all of the pertinent information. Then we wonder why people are so screwed up!

Illusion or reality?
[info]spiritualtg

Maya

The nature of the illusion
is the attachment to perceptions.

I is eye and Me is mind
are common misrepresentations.

Mind is akin to the eldest child
in charge of keeping the other senses.

I, our apparent continuity and Me
belongs to Maya, almost unconsciously.

Not exactly sure where I'm going with this yet...maybe a book, maybe just a lesson plan.

ENERGY

Energy is matter, multiplied by the speed of light squared. Traditionally known as E=MC². thanks Al :) By my, perhaps twisted, logic the reverse is also true. M=E/C², matter is energy divided by the speed of light squared. Translation: Matter and Energy are the same thing.

The only thing that gives the appearance of differences is the rate of speed that the energy is moving. Things that appear to be solid are in fact just energy vibrations that are moving very slowly; slowly in comparison to an animate, living creature anyway. Conversely, energy that moves exceptionally fast can only be sensed subjectively. Such energies are sound, light, pressure, space, heat, cold, taste, scents, and emotions.

Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only change forms. This is a basic scientific premise. So where did all of this energy come from? Considering the fact that there is no way to create energy there can be no doubt that there is a source. For simplicities sake, we call this source God. God fits all of the necessary criteria: was-is-always-shall-be, everywhere, everything, and all-seeing. When we observe how balanced Existence is, (ignoring Man's stupidity and greed) it's fairly obvious that God is intelligent. Being that Man is self-aware it's pretty safe to assume God is conscious as well. After all, our consciousness had to come from somewhere didn't it?

So, to sum up. Everything in Existence is energy. Energy is God. God is Existence. Sound like a translation for “I AM the Alpha and Omega”? I thought so too ;)

So I was on this train of thought a couple of days ago....As with most of the trains leaving the station that is my mind, it traveled through the  mountains of mysticism and onwards towards the valley of sociology. On it's way down it almost Amtracked into the pits of politics, but I was fortunate and it took a hard right uphill through the foothills of mainstream religion. On the left side-scenery is ALWAYS on the left-were the plains of science and fields of philosophy. Looking up I could see the energies of existence holding it all together. I got off at a point marked CULT...so I think I should start one. :-D

Well, technically I would merely be reforming religion but cults are WAY easier and you can make money with them. LOL

Add the concept of monotheism with a slight twist, God/Goddess'  manifestations are particular to the individual observing Him/Her/It, to  Buddhism as it was before it started it's migration. Effectively, interpreting the..how do they like to put it...."Word of God" in the manner that it was intended as opposed to the all too common mis-interpretations for control of the masses.

Of course i already see some issues arising. The Cross/Crucifix would have to go AWAY for starters. Thou shalt hold no other god's before Me... Jesus, if we assume he actually walked the Earth, was a human: an ENLIGHTENED human. Ergo not to be worshiped. I'm a slacker on this whole Bible reading thing but I'm pretty sure he didn't want people worshiping him like he was a golden calf. My understanding is that the way he lived his life was an example of how people  should behave. His abilities were, what  a Buddhist Master would call "signposts" along his spiritual path, feats anyone can train themselves to to. I'm a Reiki Master Teacher, I can heal people too.....he was just WAY cooler at it than anyone walking around now. The fact that folks were a LOT closer to God in the old days probably has quite a bit to do with it.

I hear the rebuttals now....Jesus is the only way to join God, we're all Sinners not worthy of a relationship with Him and we need Jesus as an intermediary. WRONG!! 1. You can't form a relationship with someone you won't talk to directly. 2. This whole concept of "original Sin" is TOTALLY misinterpreted. We all know the story (if not read it yourself, I've already said I'm a slacker about that), the fruit of tree of knowledge was eaten and humanity was cast out of Paradise. The "party-line" is that we pissed God off by disobeying Him and this mortal life is punishment for it. Not quite folks, it's just Karma. To put it into easier-to-understand terms: God said, "Don't eat from THIS tree right here." He didn't bother explaining why because He's GOD (duh) and we wouldn't have understood the explanation anyway. Here's the explanation: "The fruit causes a separation in the brain between the left and right hemispheres making the left hemisphere dominant while simultaneously suppressing the right hemisphere." In layman's terms, it makes you ignore the abstract/spiritual/creative side of your being in favor of the linear/logical/rational side. It's far more likely that we were never banished from Paradise, we were just compelled by the fruit  to ignore it.

Here's where the Buddhism comes in. It's ALL about regaining control of the left hemisphere and allowing the right hemisphere to have it's say again.

I think I'm gonna stop here...this is WAY more than I was planning on writing. The next section is it's own book, literally LOL If you wanna know now go ahead and check out www.freewebs.com/spiritual_tourguide/
